Peace Missionary Baptist Church Packages Thousands of Meals for the Needy

A church in North Carolina has packaged approximately 10,000 meals for those in need in developing countries in one day.

More 75 church members from Peace Missionary Baptist Church of Durham, N.C.,  and members of the local community, took part in packaging 10,152 meals for the less fortunate all across the world. This project was a joint effort with the international relief agency Stop Hunger Now.  Wil Glenn, a volunteer from Peace Missionary Baptist Church, wants those in need to see that Jesus Christ is love.

Despite the rainy weather and grey seas, over 1 million excited young Catholics packed onto Copacabana Beach for one of the highlights of Pope Francis’ week-long visit to Brazil.  Some people plunged into the ocean, while others made small camps on the sand, as they waited for the Pope to climb up onto the stage.

Australia has donated $100 million in humanitarian aid since June 2011.  Since 2011, there have been an estimated 93,000 deaths, while around 1.8 million refugees have fled from the civil war in Syria.  This has been the largest refugee exodus since the Rwandan genocide almost 20 years ago.

Throughout his life, Pope Francis  has been noted for his humility and his concern for the poor.  Francis is the first Jesuit pope and the first pope from the Americas.  He was born of Italian parents in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

New Mexico based Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) seeks to help fulfill the Great Commission in this generation by providing access to the Word of God in every translated language.  The newly expanded audio bible now includes 733 languages, and has the potential outreach to more than 5.7 billion people in more than 189 different countries.  According to FCBH, the audio version of the Bible is significant because 50 percent of the world’s population is illiterate, and cannot read the Word of God.

Two Russian heavy-lift transport planes on Thursday delivered a total of 70 metric tons of humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees in Syria, Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry said.
